| We're Really Flying Now! I was walking home after teaching yoga last week, and it suddenly hit me! We are actually going to have a real business-office kind of place! and I thought to myself . . . Whoa, now Im really a grown-up! A career, traveling, the marriage, or two kids didn't make me feel like an adult. It took YBB to do that. I guess it is because of all the responsibilities involved. What happened to us in Lincoln has been amazing. I have a spirit like a bird--my sister used to say--because I am free and like to fly away as I need to. Last summer Thomas and I were ready follow our nature, to fly away to a new adventure away from Lincoln, but something inside me wasnt at peace with that. I thought, Maybe if I just stay still long enough to be present to what is happening around me, things will become clear about what to do and where to go. Thats when all the miracles started to happen. When I opened to grace, Lincoln became home. Practitioners started to show up asking for more, opportunities arrived, and a great new wellness center was born! I have to say this happened mainly Our journey to find a location has been . . . colorful! We first looked for a business space downtown, and continued to look for a house to buy suitable for a business too. Then we decided to stay in our living room for a while. We thank you all for bearing with us in the coziness of our home and our daughter Oliva's passionate setting of the mats--and the endless, Bye-byes. We are grateful for the graciousness of the Piccinis and the privilege of using their beautiful home after Jai was born.
Of course, there have been some obstacles, such as: --the struggle of being a mother and entrepreneur --the struggle of staying on a budget when you want to offer clients the most exquisite space and amenities, and yet you can only afford so much --the struggle of having one car and juggling it all with two kids --the struggle to find babysitters so I could help Thomas! --the struggle of having to stay home orchestrating instead of having hands-on experience at the site --the struggle of having so little family time--especially with Thomas. This has been a great growing curve in our relationship--learning to deal with one anothers strengths and weaknesses and finding balance between what we wanted and what is best overall. Individually weve had to let go of wanting it, my way and compromise to find our way. Whether we climbed one step at a time or ten in a jump! we held hands all along . . . even if sometimes we rolled our eyes or dropped some tears saying, I cant do this anymore! We found relief in just pausing after venting and continued our journey up to the top of Everest! Our editor asked me what it was like to share this dream with Thomas, and I say, Thomas and I are the perfect team of steel core and huge heart. It always seems when I am weak, he is the strongest of men, and when he cant find his ground, I can provide the floor for both. Since were both instructors, its easy to find a sub--right here at home! You are the breath beneath our wings! Come fly with us! Welcome from Olga My personal journey took a sharp turn in 2003 when I was in a near fatal car accident that left me in tremendous pain and unable to work for a period of several months. I had been directing an HIV Aids program for the Hispanic community and traveling throughout Nebraska counseling, providing assistance, and writing grants to help people affected by HIV Aids and to establish programs for its prevention. However, when my health was severely compromised I realized, although I loved my work and knew it was beneficial, it wasnt my true passion. I had received training in Ecuador in the 1990s in the field of bioenergy and was fully aware of its efficacy, therefore, I knew I wanted to seek biomagnetic therapy for myself when my accident left me disabled and in constant pain. I traveled to Ecuador where I received treatment and right away my health was fully restored. That experience helped me decide to follow my dream to help others attain health in a safe, noninvasive, yet scientifically sound way, a way that brought balance to the body, mind and spirit. I sought further training and have been providing my services to people of the Lincoln community since 2006. You can obtain more information about my training and about biomagnetism by visiting my website at http://www.biomagnetismforlife.com. Up and Coming Great Mothers' Day treat! "Barbara De Angelis has written several bestselling books on the topic of personal and spiritual growth. In her latest book,How Did I Get Here? she addresses ways to find renewed hope and happiness when life takes unexpected turns. This is an inspiring book for anyone who is at a crossroads in life, for anyone who is facing difficult changes that shake the foundation of their being." ~Suzi Quote of the Month "To experience everyday Nirvana, everyday bliss, allow whatever you are doing in the moment to be your purpose. To do this, you do not have to be living a perfect life. To do this, you do not have to have things turn out the way you expected them to, or hoped they would. To do this, all you need to do is to just be awake." ~ Barbara De Angelis Recipe of the Month--Nut Milk As long term non-milk drinkers Tataya and I still enjoy a protein and calcium rich creamy beverage to add to recipes, smoothies, cookies or just any meal. To make nut milk: Soak for 8 hours the following in a mason jar. 1 cup of almonds ½ cup sunflower seeds ¼ cup sesame seeds After soaking, rinse thoroughly and put in blender with 1 quart water. Blend, blend, blend. Pour the resulting mixture into a bowl lined with flour sack cloth, with enough material to hang quite a bit over for grabbing. (You can use a handkerchief or T-shirt material, and of course, use a bowl large enough to accept contents.) Take up the corners of cloth in one hand and manipulate other hand to strain milk from meal. You now have your first quart of milk. Do the process again adding meal to blender for another quart. The recipe makes two quarts. Although I find I can make a third quart with same meal, it gets a little thinner, but I dont mind. At this point, add 1 cup of milk to blender with following: 1 t vanilla honey or agave to taste Blend again and then add back to milk container with the two quarts of milk. We usually dont do this part because we add milk to smoothies which have plenty of sweetness and the taste we have come to love without added flavorings. For more calcium, add more soaked sesame seeds. Soaked or sprouted sesame seeds have an overwhelming quantity of usable calcium. For more creaminess, use more sunflower seeds, although youll find too many make it hard to strain the milk through your cloth or bag. This will remain a living food about three days in the fridge but will keep well for up to a week. To your health, Thomas Announcing new prenatal class!
